The WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship has officially been retired after 11 months of inactivity, with WWE quietly moving the title from the list of active championships on the company's website. The NXT Heritage Cup is now listed as being retired on WWE.com.

The title was already inactive on WWE programming, having not been seen since it was thrown off a bridge by Tony D'Angelo on July 12, 2025 at NXT Great American Bash. Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo was the final WWE NXT Heritage Cup Champion, having won the vacant title on the June 24, 2025 episode of NXT in a match with Tony D'Angelo as part of their programme amid the dissolution of the D'Angelo Family.

The Heritage Cup was created in September 2020 as the secondary title in WWE NXT UK where it would be defended under British Rounds rules. A-Kid (AKA Axiom) was the inaugural champion and the cup remained on WWE NXT UK until the brand was discontinued in September 2022. The Heritage Cup then went on hiatus until being revived by Noam Dar as part of NXT in April 2023.

Across the NXT Heritage Cup Championship's history, there were 13 reigns with the cup, with Noam Dar having the most reigns at four. The other WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship champions were Tyler Bate, Mark Coffey, Nathan Frazer, Charlie Dempsey, and Lexis King.
