Hulk Hogan's passing caused major changes to the July 25 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, with the show beginning with a tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer, including a 10-bell salute with the SmackDown roster on the stage along with the likes of Jimmy Hart, Ted DiBiase, Jim Duggan, Brian Blair, Sgt. Slaughter, and Gerald Brisco.

Fightful Select noted that the majority of SmackDown was shifted following Hulk Hogan's passing, and a lot of content was produced to air during SmackDown. Travel was also arranged to bring in talents for the event, but not everyone that wanted to be at SmackDown was able to make it.

Hulk Hogan passed away on Thursday, July 24 following a cardiac arrest. Hogan had suffered from health issues since undergoing neck surgery in May and the Hulkster lost the ability to speak in the week leading up to his death.

Hulk Hogan has left behind a complicated legacy. The pro wrestler helped transform WWE into a globally recognised brand, but Terry Bollea proved controversial in the decade before his passing due to his past racist comments.
