Several Names "Thrown Around" For Developmental Inolvement Amidst Shawn Michaels Promotion Rumours

Shawn Michaels has been at the creative head of NXT for several years, leading WWE’s developmental brand. He is reportedly in store for a big promotion, with reports emerging this week of Michaels being expected to take over from Bruce Prichard’s position across Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown. This comes in the aftermath of news that Prichard was set to scale back his roles in WWE after WrestleMania 43.

With Michaels potentially leading his roles in NXT behind him in favour of a move up to the main roster, it leaves a hole that needs to be filled by someone new. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several names have been thrown around in WWE.

Among those who are supposedly in contention for a bigger backstage role in NXT are CM Punk, Bayley and AJ Styles, the latter of whom was reportedly already having plenty of involvement at the WWE Performance Center. Both Bayley & Punk have also been in reports in the past of eventually having more of a role in WWE outside of the ring.
