Weeks prior to his passing, rumours circulated that Hulk Hogan was dealing with health complications, with a new report stating Hogan had lost the ability to speak in his final days.
The WWE Hall of Famer passed away from a ‘massive’ cardiac arrest at his home on July 24, 2025, and a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shed some more light on Hogan’s condition during his final days.
Hogan’s former friend Bubba the Love Sponge had suggested that Hogan had been comatose following neck surgery in May, but the report suggests that whilst Bubba’s comments were inaccurate and overplaying the severity of Hogan’s condition, the Hulkster was said to have been in a condition far worse than what anyone else was saying publicly following the surgery.
In his final week it is believed that Hogan had lost the ability to talk. Hogan had at some point been relocated from Tampa General Hospital back to his home, where a ‘hospital’ was made up in his private residence, with a source close to the situation stating “there wasn’t much left they could do.”
Whilst in hospital, Hogan had been intubated and was suffering from kidney failure and fluid overload, as well as severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. COPD is a group of lung conditions which causes breathing difficulties and is common amongst middle-aged or older adults.
