On Friday Night SmackDown this week, Ron Killings picked up a big victory as he defeated Aleister Black in singles action. Many fans were shocked as the match lasted around 90 seconds, with Truth rolling up Black after a referee removed a chair from his hands, ending things very quickly.

PWInsider has learned why the match was so short, and it was not the original plan. It is reported that although the finish of Truth winning with a roll-up was part of the plan, the match was supposed to go on a lot longer. However, things were said to be drastically cut due to time constraints caused by the segment involving Jelly Roll, Logan Paul, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, which apparently went on for much longer than expected.

It is stated that a WWE source regarded the cut as a “necessary evil” but is no reflection on the status of Killings or Black in WWE. There was a lot of surprise backstage when it came to the finish, but those in WWE have noted that neither man’s push is being dropped.
