Bryan Danielson is synonymous with the “Yes!” chant, with it becoming very much a big part of his rise to the top in WWE back between 2013 and 2014. Fans today use the chant all across the wrestling world, with it forever ingrained in the business. Danielson used the “Yes!” gesture sporadically in AEW, but it became used more frequently as time pressed on. In the past, Danielson noted that WWE had sent him a legal letter stating that he was “infringing” after trying to trademark the term. The following month, WWE trademarked “YES YES YES”.
At Starrcast this week, Danielson revealed that WWE had once again recently asked him to stop using the chant. Danielson explained that during his time in AEW, he hasn’t actually uttered the word “Yes!” when performing the hand gesture, with the fans instead being the ones to chant the term. He questioned whether arm movements could be trademarked. Danielson went on to say that he wasn’t too opposed to getting in trouble.
At AEW All In 2025, Danielson returned to help Adam Page overcome The Death Riders, arriving in a Blue Panther mask, immediately doubling down and doing the “Yes!” hand gesture as the crowd loudly chanted. He ran wild, chasing off the group.
