WWE Backstage Reaction To Mike Santana's NXT Debut

Mike Santana is the latest TNA star to cross the line into WWE NXT, with Santana defeating Tavion Heights on the May 28 edition of NXT TV.

The former TNA World Tag Team Champion spoke of the experience during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, saying the following:

"A lot of people are playing a character. I'm myself, bro. I'm thankful. I'm thankful that I've been able to get this far in my career not having to conform to anything or anybody and being myself. I'm thankful for that. Not a lot of people get to say that. That's why it's very important to me. The fact that I went down to WWE and they were so respectful of my authenticity and they were very on board with everything and my presentation and what I was doing and how I was doing it says a lot. It meant a lot," said Santana.

Santana is set to challenge TNA World Champion Trick Williams for the gold on the June 3 edition of NXT TV, with Williams having shockingly defeated Joe Hendry for the title at NXT Battleground on May 25.

A follow-up report from PWInsider states that Santana received ‘high marks’ from WWE after his debut.
