R-Truth is seemingly okay after sustaining an injury on the October 16 edition of Friday Night SmackDown in Sacramento, California.
Ron Killings was in action against Damian Priest on SmackDown when he connected with a missile dropkick from the top rope. R-Truth landed on his back and immediately looked groggy after the manoeuvre, with the referee checking on Killings before he waved the match off and gave the 'X' signal to note that R-Truth had sustained a legitimate injury. Killings was checked by the ringside doctor, while Damian Priest kept the angle going as he retrieved a steel chair before Fraxiom stood in his way to protect Killings, with the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion then heading backstage.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that R-Truth "appears to be all right" following SmackDown, but he will be evaluated next week.
R-Truth is currently in his second WWE run, having returned to the company in 2008. Ron Killings looked to be on his way out of WWE in the summer of 2025 as the company didn't plan to renew his contract, only to do an about-face after a furious reaction from WWE fans. Killings then returned at Money in the Bank 2025 after signing a new four-year WWE deal.
R-Truth, after initially returning with a more serious character, soon reverted back to comedy. He has spent much of 2026 in a tag team with Damian Priest, which included a 147-day reign as WWE Tag Team Champions. Priest turned on R-Truth on September 11 and they have been feuding ever since.
