MJF looks set to remain featured on All Elite Wrestling's televised programming for the foreseeable future.
Friedman dropped the AEW World Championship to Darby Allin at AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru, losing to Darby in two minutes following a low blow, scorpion death drop, and four coffin drops. MJF had spent the week since the title loss complaining that he had been screwed out of the AEW World Championship and that storyline continued on the April 22 episode of Dynamite.
After demanding the AEW World Title be returned to him, MJF was instead interrupted by Kevin Knight in the opening segment, with a TNT Title match being set up for next week's Dynamite. Friedman then appeared ahead of the main event to confront Darby but Allin said MJF would only get a shot at the AEW World Title if he also put something on the line.
While there were initially reports that MJF would be filming a movie immediately after his AEW World Title loss, this was shot down by MJF himself. Instead, it has been noted that MJF is factored into plans for the main event of the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, and Fightful Select has now reported that MJF is factored into AEW creative well into the summer months.
AEW Double or Nothing will be taking place on Sunday, May 24, with AEW set to hold Forbidden Door on June 28 and All In on August 30. The promotion are also likely to introduce a new pay-per-view named Redemption in 2026.
