Update On Chris Jericho Potentially Returning To WWE

Recent reports have suggested that Chris Jericho could make his return to WWE should his All Elite Wrestling contract expire, so could Y2J return?

Jericho set tongues wagging when he liked a post on Instagram suggesting he should return to WWE for another run, with Jericho having been absent from AEW since April 2025. A follow-up from Fightful Select has shed some more light on the situation, with it looking like speculation of Jericho leaving AEW at this point is mere speculation.

The inaugural AEW World Champion is signed through 2025, and with Jericho having a close relationship with Tony Khan and seemingly a direct line with regards to creative plans, then any ideas going forward for Jericho in the company will likely be kept very close to the chest.

Whilst there has been some discussion about Jericho returning within WWE, these have not come in the creative department, with a source stating the situation is ‘far too early to tell’, with WWE also apparently in the dark about the status of Jericho’s AEW tenure, and when indeed his deal will/could expire.

Jericho throughout his career has taken sabbaticals from pro wrestling in order to rest up and concentrate on outside ventures such as Fozzy, but it is unknown if his latest break - going on four months at the time of writing - will see time added on to his AEW contract.
