WrestleCon promoter and Highspots owner Michael Bochicchio has revealed that TNA President Carlos Silva has reimbursed WrestleCon for Leon Slater's flights and hotel expenses after Slater was pulled from the Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow over WrestleMania 42 weekend.

Bochicchio noted on X/Twitter:

"He took a beating the last few weeks, so I want to give @carlossilva his props today. A week ago, he called me personally to explain his reasoning for pulling the match. He then asked if there was anything he could do to make up for it. I simply asked that he reimburse me for Leon's flights/hotel since he was no longer wrestling for us. Today, I was reimbursed for the flight/hotel as promised. Thank you Carlos."

Leon Slater was originally scheduled to face Ricochet in the main event of the Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow on Thursday, April 16. Just days before the match, however, TNA pulled their wrestlers from several independent wrestling matches which would have seen them face talents from All Elite Wrestling.

The official response from TNA was that the promotion did so because of "partner conflicts." People involved in the situation reportedly believe WWE forced TNA's hand, but reports have also noted that Carlos Silva was unhappy about AEW Collision airing against TNA Thursday Night IMPACT on April 2. Collision being pre-empted to Thursday nights for that week, though, was reportedly a Warner Bros. Discovery decision.

Bochicchio debunked speculation that Ricochet vs. Leon Slater was scrapped because the TNA X-Division Champion was going to lose as the WrestleCon promoter confirmed Slater would not have lost to Ricochet.

Other matches scrapped due to the TNA decision included MJF vs. Nic Nemeth at Create A Pro on May 1, a planned MJF vs. Bear Bronson match in GCW, and the original plans for Moose at Maple Leaf Pro Multiverse.

The main event of the Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow ended up featuring five AEW talents as The Demand of Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona defeated "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight and Michael Oku.
