A new version of the Wednesday Night Wars may be formed later this year.

TNA have been in talks over a new United States media rights deal for IMPACT, with it being noted in recent months the Anthem-owned promotion were looking for a deal worth around $7-10 million per year. A&E and The CW, two networks with existing partnerships with WWE, were considered frontrunners to secure the rights to TNA IMPACT.

In an update, The Takedown on SI has reported that there have at least been discussions about TNA moving to a WWE-associated network. TNA are also open to moving TNA IMPACT from Thursday nights to Wednesday in order to go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.

It is believed that WWE have some degree of influence in TNA's negotiations over a new US TV deal, and some WWE stakeholders would like IMPACT to air on The CW, the network which already broadcasts WWE NXT.

TNA President Carlos Silva told The Takedown on SI that more meetings about a new TV deal for IMPACT would be held later this month, and he also did not deny there had been talks about opposing AEW Dynamite on Wednesday nights. Silva, however, claimed any possible move the promotion makes would be for TNA's best interests and not on the basis of competition. Silva also claimed the working relationship between WWE and TNA that was formalised earlier this year after beginning in May 2024 has not moved beyond a talent exchange and promoting each other's shows.

According to reports, WWE are looking to establish TNA as the number two promotion in professional wrestling and drive AEW out of business, which is the reason behind WWE's heavy emphasis on counter-programming AEW pay-per-views in 2025.
