CM Punk stated on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 that he wasn't "going to go home and sulk" and he wasn't "going on vacation", but the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been absent from the company's programming since he made those statements on April 20.
While Punk is nowhere to be seen, it isn't true that WWE have no plans for the 47-year-old, according to WrestleVotes on WrestleVotes Live.
After being asked, "Is it true that WWE currently has no plans for CM Punk, which is why they have been keeping him off television?" WrestleVotes replied:
"No. Not true. Don't know where that came from. It's a well-deserved rest for that guy that has been going, outside of injury, for three straight years. Just main evented WrestleMania. Get a little time off, him and his wife. He'll be back in no time, right back on top of the card. It is not true that they have no plans for CM Punk."
CM Punk's own statements on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 suggest WWE's plans for him changed, especially as a future match with Cody Rhodes was teased on that same episode, and reports have indicated as much. Both Fightful Select and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter have noted Punk being pulled from WWE's European tour was due to "scheduling changes", and False Finish reported on May 23 that Punk was "currently awaiting creative to return to WWE" after his plans were shifted due to WWE moving Gunther to SmackDown for a programme with Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu heading to Raw for a feud with Roman Reigns.
Following a tumultuous run with All Elite Wrestling, CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 and he has been featured as a top star in the company.
