Don't expect AJ Lee to appear on WWE programming anytime soon.
The former Divas Champion has been gone from WWE TV since she dropped the Women's Intercontinental Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42. In an update, WrestleVotes noted on WrestleVotes Live that AJ Lee "isn't expected to return to WWE imminently."
It was noted following WrestleMania 42 that WWE's current plans for AJ Lee were effectively done after the company's biggest weekend of the year, but there was hope within the organisation that she would return for more matches in the future, potentially around major WWE events like SummerSlam.
Lee herself suggested she would be away from WWE for some time as she noted on the WrestleMania 42 post-show that "this is not goodbye, but I'll see you soon, I hope."
AJ Lee had been retired as an in-ring wrestler for 10 years prior to her WWE return in September 2025. Lee's comeback run was dominated by a programme with Becky Lynch, with Lee and husband CM Punk defeating Seth Rollins and Lynch at Wrestlepalooza, before Lee made Lynch submit to the Black Widow at Survivor Series 2025 to win WarGames for her team.
Lee then cost Becky Lynch the Women's Intercontinental Title during Lynch's programme with Maxxine Dupri, and AJ would ultimately capture the belt from her rival at Elimination Chamber 2026. Her WWE Women's Intercontinental Title reign ended at 49 days when she dropped the championship back to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania.
