Over the last two days the latest batch of WWE releases in the post-WrestleMania 41 period were revealed, which has seen the company let go of seventeen wrestlers across both the main roster and NXT - Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Shotzi, Kayden Carter, Katance Chance, Cora Jade, Shayna Baszler, Riley Osbourne, Eddy Thorpe, Oro Mensah, Dani Palmer, Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, Wolfgang, Gigi Dolin, Jakara Jackson, and Javier Bernal.
Some news has emerged via Fightful Select on the potential future of some of these names. In the case of former NXT wrestler Dani Palmer, it is believed that she will not be pursuing a career in professional wrestling, stating her “athletic career has come to an end”. In contrast, Shotzi is said to be very motivated for the future and even prepared her released social media promo a week before her exit with many “seeing the writing on the wall” when it comes to WWE not wanting to extend her deal when it expires. As opposed to the 90-day non-compete clauses that those on main roster deals had, it is believed that Shotzi’s contract with WWE expires before that period.
It was noted previously that there was plenty of interest from outside companies and agents regarding Dakota Kai too. Many wrestlers both released and those elsewhere in the wrestling world have shared statements and thoughts on these latest releases.
