WWE released a total of 16 wrestlers on Friday May 2, both across the main roster and NXT. Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, Gallus, Oro Mensah, Riley Osborne, Eddy Thorpe, Jakara Jackson, Dani Palmer, and Javier Bernal are among those to exit the company. Several of those let go by WWE have already spoken out about their exits on social media.

Shayna Baszler on X: "No one can offer what I have to offer. Reality. Let the Galaxy burn."

Cora Jade on X: “Just got a lot of free time in our hands, see you soon.”

Gigi Dolin on X: “Officially free to work in 30 days [email protected].”

Oro Mensah on X: “15 years hard work and true sacrifice to make it to WWE. Always gave it my 110% and put my whole passion and body into the artform of pro-wrestling. Thank you for all the support! love y‘all.”

Dakota Kai posted a gif meme to X of GTA San Andreas captioned, “Ah sh*t, here we go again.”

Braun Strowman would also reveal on Instagram that he was in the Bahamas when he heard the news of his WWE release, though he didn’t caption his post, instead he had a glass raised in a photo.

Many across the professional wrestling world have also offered plenty of words of support for those let go by WWE, many of those from wrestlers who had previously suffered releases too. This include the likes of Matt Cardona (FKA Zack Ryder), AJ Francis (FKA Top Dolla), Nixon Newell (FKA Tegan Nox), Sidney Akeem (FKA Reggie), and several others too.

WWE's Naomi, meanwhile, gave an in-character response, tweeting: "If I was doing releases I would have kept everyone and just released @Jade_Cargill."
