Reigning TNA World Champion Mike Santana may not be a part of the promotion by the end of the year, it has been revealed.

PWInsider has reported that Santana's deal with TNA Wrestling is currently scheduled to expire at some point during the summer of 2026. Santana's TNA contract was originally due to expire at the end of 2025 but he quietly signed an extension with the Anthem-owned company.

Santana's future plans are currently unknown, but WWE are interested in the 35-year-old, PWInsider has noted. The company first expressed interest in Santana in the summer of 2025 after his appearances on NXT TV. It was expected Santana would jump to WWE prior to him putting pen to paper on the contract extension with TNA.

Santana is currently in his second run with TNA Wrestling, having returned to the promotion at Rebellion 2024. He has been one of TNA's top stars ever since and Santana is currently in his second reign as TNA World Champion, having regained the belt from Frankie Kazarian on the Thursday Night IMPACT premiere on AMC in January 2026.
