As part of WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 cuts, Aleister Black found himself getting released from WWE just a year after his return to the company. When reflecting back on his time in WWE, Black wasn’t all too pleased with how things turned out.
Speaking on the ZELVX and CHARLIE GIRL podcast (with former WWE stars Zelina Vega & Dakota Kai), Black delved into broken promises and frustration with his WWE spell.
“I can pretend that it [being released] didn’t suck, but of course it sucks. It always sucks. In my case, it sucked harder because of the mountains of things that were promised and all the other conversations. And then being presented with this f*cking dud of a year. Despite main events, despite all these things, it was just anything as to what they said that they wanted to do. To me, it was like, ‘Why did you guys even want this? Because this makes no f*cking sense.’ But that’s besides the point. At some point, I’m sure I’ll talk about it.”
Shortly following his exit, talk emerged that TKO’s dislike for spookier gimmicks was a part of the reason why he was cut. Since his release, Black has won the PROGRESS World Championship in his return to the indies.
