Amidst the ongoing acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide by WWE, the two companies co-promoted Worlds Collide as the show emanated from the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, June 7.
The main event saw new AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo put the belt on the line against Chad Gable and the action built slowly to a crescendo which saw Gable put Vikingo through a table with a Moonsault from the top turnbuckle to the outside.
Both men made it back into the ring at the count of nine and Vikingo managed to control the action from here, although he appeared to have suffered a legitimate injury to his knee as he struggled while running the ropes to connect with a Springboard Poisonrana. Vikingo managed to follow up with his 630 Senton finisher for the win and Worlds Collide went off the air with all the babyface luchadores and Je'Von Evans celebrating with Vikingo.
The semi-main event featured a frenetic four-way for the NXT North American Championship between Ethan Page, Laredo Kid, Rey Fenix, and Je'Von Evans. All four men were showcased in the match but it was Ethan Page who emerged victorious to retain his title, with All Ego capitalising on an OG Cutter from Je'Von Evans to Laredo Kid by throwing Evans out of the ring and following up with the Twisting Grin to Laredo for the 1-2-3.
Mr. Iguana, meanwhile, secured a new legion of fans in the opener as he teamed with Octagon Jr. and Aero Star to defeat Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro, and Lince Dorado, with a particular highlight being Lince Dorado hitting Mr. Iguana's puppet iguana with a Standing Spanish Fly. The AAA trio picked up the win after Octagon hit Dorado with a Moonsault Fallaway Slam.
A new match was made official for Money in the Bank following the opener as Dominik Mysterio, who was sitting at ringside with Liv Morgan, ran down his father which resulted in Octagon punching the WWE Intercontinental Champion. This escalated into a pull-apart brawl between Mysterio and Octagon, with Dominik announcing after they had been separated that he would defend the IC Title against Octagon at Money in the Bank.
In other entertaining pro wrestling action at Worlds Collide, Legado del Fantasma defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown in trios action, and Stephanie Vaquer and Lola Vice teamed together to defeat Dalys and Chik Tormenta.
