Over the last month it was reported that WWE’s WrestleMania 42 plans for Iyo Sky were centered around a potential mask with former Damage CTRL ally Asuka, with a feud forming on Monday Night RAW between the pair. However, no singles match or a triple threat involving Kairi Sane has been announced for the show, which is now just a week away. Well, it now seems like a possibility that the match won’t take place at WrestleMania at all.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has revealed that WWE’s plans may have changed. It is stated that plans for Iyo Sky vs. Asuka are currently up in the air and uncertain, with a potential possibility being to delay their showdown for the May 9 Backlash PLE in Tampa, Florida next month.

The match could still be announced over the next week, with another report in recent days revealing that WWE were delaying the match announcement in case either Asuka or Iyo Sky are required to fill in for The Bella Twins in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship fatal four way following an injury to Nikki Bella in the build up.
