WrestleMania 42 is officially just a week away, and WWE’s issues regarding ticket sales for both nights of the show on April 18 and 19 are still present. Despite attempts to boost ticket sales with the injection of the likes of Pat McAfee into the main event WWE Championship storyline and frequent mentions of tickets being available on WWE programming, movement is still slow.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided a rundown of the current state of WWE’s ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Nevada. When compared to last year’s show in the same venue, sales are currently at 19.1% lower than they were at this point last year, with WrestleMania 42 Saturday presently at 39,345 paid, and WrestleMania 42 Sunday at 41,317. The set up for each night is currently at 60,000, meaning WWE still has a mightily big job to put backsides in seats.

There has been some drop seen in prices, with certain deals now seeing a 30% discount, with the cheapest tickets now dropping as low as $27 in the highest sections. WWE’s issues with ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 have existed for several months, prompting WWE to put together a wide array of unsuccessful deal and sale campaigns, not to mention an attempt to ban watch parties in the city of Las Vegas, and the announcement of John Cena as host.
