WWE are seemingly using another tactic in an attempt to boost ticket sales for WrestleMania 42.

WWE often hosts a number of WrestleMania watchalongs in the host city and other cities for the Showcase of the Immortals, with WWE talents working those events. That may not be happening in 2026, however, as Fightful Select has reported that the distributor of WrestleMania 42 has informed a number of establishments in Las Vegas that they won't be able to broadcast the show, even if they pay the licence fee. Venues have been told this is due to a new protocol within 50 miles of WrestleMania 42, which will emanate from Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.

The belief is the protocol was changed in an attempt to increase ticket sales for WrestleMania 42. Reports have noted that WWE are disappointed with WrestleMania ticket sales so far, with sales down around 16.5 per cent compared to the same time for WrestleMania 41.

Ticket prices remain high for WrestleMania 42. The cheapest one-day ticket is priced at $266, while tickets for the second row will set fans back $16,000. Combo tickets for both nights of WrestleMania begin at $738 and rise to $46,000 for the second row.

Fightful was told by one source familiar with the protocol change that they felt it undermined one of the reasons Las Vegas brought WrestleMania 42 to Sin City in looking to spike tourism.
