WWE WrestleMania 42 Plans For IYO SKY Revealed

IYO SKY is scheduled to perform at WWE WrestleMania 42 and the former Women's World Champion's plans for the Showcase of the Immortals have been revealed.

BodySlam has reported that IYO SKY vs. Asuka is currently scheduled for WrestleMania 42. The match may morph into a Triple Threat, however, as there is support within WWE about potentially adding Kairi Sane to the contest.

IYO SKY and Asuka were previously stablemates in WWE as part of Damage CTRL until the group was quietly disbanded in May 2025. SKY and the Kabuki Warriors remained allies on WWE TV after the faction ended, but Kairi Sane and Asuka turned on SKY in September 2025.

IYO SKY and the Kabuki Warriors have faced off inside WarGames and in multiple tag team matches since then, with SKY teaming with Rhea Ripley. BodySlam noted that WWE have intentionally avoided having Asuka and SKY interact in the ring for long periods of time because of the plans for them to collide at WrestleMania.

IYO SKY and Asuka have only faced each other in one singles match in WWE. That match on the September 22, 2023 episode of SmackDown saw SKY successfully defend the WWE Women's Championship against Asuka.
