Why IYO SKY Has Been Absent From WWE TV

The reason for IYO SKY's current absence from WWE TV has been revealed, with the former WWE Women's Champion announcing that she had been back in Japan on holiday, having visited Tokyo.

SKY is now back on the road as part of WWE's South America tour and she wrestled at the company's house show in Quito, Ecuador, on Wednesday, September 9. SKY was in action in a Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, with Raquel Rodriguez ultimately retaining the title against SKY, Sol Ruca, and Bayley.

September 9 was IYO SKY's first match since a WWE live event on August 23 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where she teamed with Nattie and Sol Ruca in a win over The Judgment Day. SKY has not performed on WWE TV since the August 10 edition of Monday Night Raw where IYO and Sol Ruca defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.

SKY has been featured prominently on WWE programming in 2026. She won the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament but she unsuccessfully challenged Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship at SummerSlam.

Another return at WWE's house show in Ecuador saw Seth Rollins make his first appearance since SummerSlam and team with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight in a win over The Usos and Jacob Fatu.
