RESULTS BEGIN
Randy Orton def. Drew McIntyre
Following introductions by Jesse "The Body" Ventura and Joe Tessitore, the first match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event saw Randy Orton, accompanied to the ring by Jelly Roll, take on Drew McIntyre, accompanied by Logan Paul, in his first match since returning from injury.
The opening moments featured Randy Orton on top, but a momentary look at Logan Paul from Orton allowed Drew McIntyre to hit two Back Suplexes to Orton on the announce table. When the broadcast returned, Drew McIntyre still had the upper hand and worked over Orton's back.
Orton no-sold chops after McIntyre asked what had happened to him and Randy fired up the crowd following a Powerslam before he dumped Irn Dru on the announce table with multiple Back Suplexes.
Vintage Orton followed with a Draping DDT and Orton went for an RKO, but he was distracted by Logan Paul on the apron which allowed McIntyre to connect with a Claymore. That looked to be it, but Orton got his foot on the rope before the three count.
What followed was a confrontation between Logan Paul and Jelly Roll at ringside, with Jelly Roll pushing Paul over after Logan pushed him on multiple occasions. McIntyre berated Jelly Roll from the ring but all this did was allow Orton to recover and hit an RKO out of nowhere for the win.
Logan Paul attacked Randy Orton after the match and Jelly Roll made the save, wiping out Paul with a forearm. As the singer checked on Orton, he ate a Claymore from Drew McIntyre. Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis then arrived at ringside and berated McIntyre for attacking Jelly Roll as the singer received medical attention.
Bianca Belair announced as special guest referee for Jade Cargill vs. Naomi at WWE Evolution
After the commercial break, the Raw and SmackDown general managers were arguing with Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
Jade Cargill was then shown sitting in the crowd when she was laid out by Naomi from behind. A pull-apart brawl followed to promote their No Holds Barred Match at WWE Evolution and when they were separated, it was announced by Nick Aldis that Bianca Belair would be the special guest referee for that match on Sunday night.
Solo Sikoa (c) def. Jimmy Uso - United States Championship
Brothers collide in the next match at Saturday Night's Main Event as Jimmy Uso challenges Solo Sikoa for the United States Championship, with Jimmy challenging for a singles title in a singles match for the first time in his career.
Uso was on top in the early going, taking out Sikoa with a Suicide Dive, but Uso hurt his shoulder in the process. Sikoa caught Uso on a dive back in the ring and hit Spinning Solo. Talla Tonga then laid out Jimmy while the referee wasn't looking.
Following an ad break, Solo Sikoa was still on top but he walked straight into a Superkick from Jimmy on the apron, which led to a German Suplex on the apron from Uso. Uso scored a near fall and hit an Uso Splash, but the United States Champion kicked out again.
Sikoa fired back into the match with Spinning Solo but he missed a Samoan Spike. Two Superkicks later floored Solo and Jimmy went for another Uso Splash, only for Solo to roll to the outside. Jimmy hit a Corkscrew Moonsault instead, taking out Sikoa, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa.
As the action entered the ring, Talla Tonga grabbed Jimmy Uso, which allowed Solo Sikoa to score a quick pin on his brother for the victory. MFT then laid out Jimmy Uso post-match, with Solo hitting a Samoan Spike. Jacob Fatu then headed to the ring and took out Loa and Mateo before dispatching of Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa with a Suicide Dive to stand tall.
After another commercial break, Jelly Roll and Randy Orton agreed to team together at SummerSlam against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
LA Knight def. Seth Rollins
LA Knight was on top for the first commercial break of the match. Rollins was on top when the broadcast returned, though, and he scored a near fall with a Frog Splash. Knight fought back after taunting from Rollins and avoiding a Stomp attempt.
Knight scored his own near fall following a Pop-Up Flying Elbow but Rollins managed to avoid a BFT attempt. Rollins then blocked Knight's run up to the top turnbuckle with a Buckle Bomb. Knight avoided a Stomp, but LA couldn't capitalise due to his storyline injured midsection.
Rollins hit a Springboard Senton but missed on a Lionsault, which brought the match to a halt as the referee and doctor checked on the current Money in the Bank briefcase holder who tweaked his knee. Rollins got up soon after and walked straight into a BFT from LA Knight as the former Eli Drake scored the big win.
Gunther (c) def. Goldberg - World Heavyweight Championship
In his adopted hometown of Atlanta, Goldberg went one-on-one with Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in the 58-year-old's retirement match. Accompanied to Gorilla by his son Gage and Josh Barnett, among others, Goldberg looked to roll back the years one last time.
Goldberg pushed Gunther over in their first lock-up after the two men circled each other for several moments. Goldberg then shoulder-blocked Gunther and no-sold a chop to a roar from the crowd in Atlanta.
Goldberg floored Gunther with a Lariat before another one. The 58-year-old went for the Jackhammer but Gunther blocked it. Goldberg blocked a Splash attempt, throwing Gunther into the ring, and he lined up for a Spear but the champion scurried to the floor.
After some brawling, Goldberg tried to hit a Spear but missed and went crashing through the barricade. When the broadcast returned from a commercial break, Gunther was working over Goldberg's ruined knees, but Goldberg fought back, only to be sent back down to the mat by a kick from Gunther.
On one good leg, Goldberg managed to hit a Spinebuster and countered a Powerbomb attempt soon after. Goldberg then went for a Spear but Gunther moved out of the way and Da' Man crashed and burned straight into referee Charles Robinson.
With the official down, Gunther removed Goldberg's knee brace. The champion taunted Gage and Goldberg's son jumped the barricade, only to be blocked by security. All of Gunther's taunting, though, allowed Goldberg to recover and he connected with a Spear back in the ring. What followed was a Jackhammer and a new referee ran down to the ring, but Goldberg couldn't make the cover immediately because of his knee, and Gunther kicked out at two as a result.
Moments later, Gunther stood up and applied the Sleeper. Goldberg tried to power out but he ultimately passed out, with Gunther recording the successful title defence.
Joined in the ring by his friends and family after the match, Goldberg thanked them and the fans in Atlanta as Saturday Night's Main Event went off the air.
