Kazuchika Okada has unified the AEW International and Continental belts, defeating Kenny Omega to win the International championship, thereby becoming the first AEW Unified champion, at AEW All In on July 12 in Arlington, TX.
After a long, seesaw battle, Omega managed to hit Okada with the One Winged Angel, but Don Callis pulled referee Bryce Remsburg out on two, and stomped the back of his head. Aubrey Edwards took over during the final sequence. After a series of near falls culminating in Okada getting two off his signature dropkick, Okada lifted the dazed Omega and finished him off with the Rainmaker.
With the win, Okada becomes the first AEW Unified champion. He won the Continental title from Eddie Kingston on the March 20, 2024 Dynamite in Toronto. In their five-match singles series dating back to 2017, Okada has evened the series with Omega at two wins apiece, with one draw.
Omega's International title reign ends at 125 days. He won the title from Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution on March 9 in Los Angeles.
