WWE have no plans to stop using celebrities on their programming ‘anytime soon’.

A report from Fightful Select notes that WWE have been ‘extremely happy’ with recent celebrity involvement, with the likes of Lil’ Yachty, IShowSpeed, Jelly Roll, and Pat McAfee all featuring prominently during WrestleMania season.

The prominence of such celebrities drew major criticism from long-time fans, but such complaints will seemingly fall on deaf ears, with WWE planning on introducing more celebrity figures into their programming in the future - likely across the Summer - although no names have been mentioned thus far.

WWE have long used celebrities across their programming and major events, with WrestleMania in particular having featured lots of celebrity involvement ever since its inaugural event. However, it was argued that the 2026 edition seemed to favour celebrities over the wrestlers themselves, drawing ire from fans, industry insiders, and professional wrestlers themselves.

Following WrestleMania, both Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee have distanced themselves from WWE with rumours suggesting they were aware of fan backlash. Lil Yachty has remained part of WWE programming, working with Trick Williams on SmackDown as part of the United States Champion’s entourage.
