Following the successful return of the tournaments last year, questions were raised about whether or not 2025 would host the King & Queen Of The Ring tournaments. Last year, an entire show was named after the contests, with the finals being hosted in Saudi Arabia. WWE’s visit to Saudi Arabia later this month will come in the form of Night Of Champions, so it wasn’t clear whether or not King & Queen Of The Ring would be contested at all.

On last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the return of both tournaments was officially announced, and whilst they will not receive their own namesake PLE this year, both finals will be held once again in Saudi Arabia at the Night Of Champions 2025 show.

This year’s format will be different, with four fatal-four-way matches taking place, serving as the bouts for the first round, before those winners then advance to the semi-finals. This is the first time that this tournament hasn’t taken the format of purely singles matches. Repeating a popular element from last year, both men’s and women’s winners will earn a world title match at SummerSlam 2025. Gunther & Nia Jax were the victors in 2024, both going on to win their respective world title matches.
