WWE are reportedly interested in signing one of New Japan Pro-Wrestling's top stars in Gabe Kidd.
That is according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who said:
"A lot of interest in Gabe Kidd in the United States. Gabe Kidd is another one that they (WWE) want, I'm sure AEW wants, I'm sure New Japan wants. I've been hearing a lot about them because Gabe Kidd's contract probably is up at the end of the month - I don't know that 100 per cent - because most New Japan contracts are. With Kidd, it's going to be real interesting with him because I think that he really loves New Japan and New Japan made him a star."
After several years on the UK independent wrestling scene, Gabe Kidd signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2020, initially wrestling in the promotion as a young lion. He has established himself as one of NJPW's top stars since 2023, and he is currently a part of Unbound Co. in New Japan and the Death Riders in AEW.
Other NJPW talents that WWE were interested in were the Knockout Brothers, but Yuto-Ice and OSKAR turned down a contract offer from WWE. WWE are also reportedly "very high" on AEW's Powerhouse Hobbs.
