Several years on from the first Evolution and following a jam-packed weekend of pro wrestling, WWE presents the second-ever Evolution pay-per-view on Sunday, July 13 from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Seven matches have been announced for the show. The card for Evolution 2025 is as follows:
RESULTS BEGIN
Ahead of the opening contest, Stephanie McMahon was announced as the co-host of Evolution alongside Joe Tessitore and previewed the show.
Becky Lynch (c) def. Lyra Valkyria & Bayley - WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship
The opening contest saw Becky Lynch defend the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria and Bayley. Valkyria was immediately knocked out of the ring by Bayley, which led to a Four Horsewoman salute from Becky Lynch. The action soon returned to all three women, though, and they exchanged pin attempts in the early going.
Bayley and Becky soon worked together, dumping Valkyria into the announce table. Lynch and Bayley then brawled, but Lyra fired back with a Crossbody to her opponents, only to be thrown into the steel steps moments later by Lynch. Becky then dumped Bayley into the barricade with a Bexploder but the move only scored her a two count back in the ring.
Becky worked over Bayley over the next several minutes until Valkyria took them both out with a Double Crossbody. Valkyria followed up with a Fisherman's Buster to Lynch, but the pinfall attempt was broken up by a Flying Elbow from Bayley. The former Huggable One then hit a Sunset Flip to Lynch as Valkyria was hung up in a Tree of Woe before a Springboard Elbow Drop to Lyra for another near fall.
Lynch applied a Cross Ambreaker soon after but Bayley escaped and was about to hit the Rose Plant before Valkyria connected with a Diving Leg Drop from the top rope. Lynch hit a Manhandle Slam to Valkyria soon after but Bayley broke up the pin at two.
Bayley to Belly to Lynch followed, but it was Valkyria's turn to break up the pin, with Lyra berating Bayley immediately after. Bayley slapped Lyra but Valkyria dropped her with an Enziguiri. Valkyria then had the match won following Nightwing to Lynch, only for Bayley to break up the pin again.
Bayley followed up with a Rose Plant to Valkyria and she made the cover on Lyra, only for Lynch to tie Bayley up into a Back Slide Pin for the 1-2-3 out of nowhere.
Jacy Jayne (c) def. Jordynne Grace - WWE NXT Women's Championship
Jordynne Grace, accompanied to the ring by Blake Monroe, was briefly on top in the early going following a Suicide Dive, but Jacy Jayne soon took control following assistance from her Fatal Influence stablemates.
Jayne remained in control for a number of minutes but Grace fired back with a Package Sit Out Powerbomb for a near fall. Grace missed on a Vader Bomb, though, and Grace ran into a Big Boot soon after and Jayne followed up with a Draping Neckbreaker for a near fall. Taunting and a Stomp from the champion followed, but Jayne missed on a Dive and ate a Code Red from Grace for another near fall.
High Angle Fisherman's Suplex from Grace followed for another near fall as Jordynne's frustration continued to build. Jayne fired back with a Frankensteiner before a Running Knee, only for Grace to kick out. Fallon Henley then threw the NXT Women's Title belt into the ring and a tug of war ensued, which led to a near fall for Grace. Blake Monroe then wiped out Jazmyn Nyx to retrieve the title belt.
The referee was distracted by Henley next and Grace was suddenly decked from behind with the belt by Blake Monroe. One slap from Jayne later and the Fatal Influence member was still NXT Women's Champion.
Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria - WWE Women's Tag Team Championships
Tag team action next at Evolution and the Kabuki Warriors were the first team on top, working over Roxanne Perez. Alexa Bliss then ran wild on Perez after tagging herself into the match.
Zaria tagged in next and worked over Bliss, helping Sol Ruca take out Bliss, and the other teams took turns stopping Alexa from making the hot tag until she finally did to Charlotte Flair, who received a big pop. Flair took out all of the other teams and the crowd continued to go wild for Charlotte, who received the most cheers probably of her WWE career.
Flair thought she had the match won following a Spear to Roxanne Perez but the champion kicked out. A Big Boot from Rodriguez felled Flair and it was Asuka's turn to run wild.
The Kabuki Warriors then took down Zaria together until she fired back with a Double Suplex and Sol Ruca followed up with a Handstand Splash. Sol Ruca then connected with Sol Snatcher to Flair before Bliss missed on Sister Abigail. Ruca then had Bliss in position for a Spear from Zaria, but Charlotte Flair saved her partner and Zaria speared Sol Ruca.
Shortly after, Perez hit Pop Rox to Charlotte before Rodriguez hit Bliss with a Powerbomb to the outside, with Bliss being caught by the Kabuki Warriors. A Tejana Bomb from Rodriguez to Sol Ruca followed as Judgment Day retained.
Tiffany Stratton (c) def. Trish Stratus - WWE Women's Championship
The action was even in the early going but Stratus gained control following a Stratusphere to the floor, with Trish following up with a Tornado DDT back in the ring.
The champion fired back with an End of Heartache and a Senton Bomb, but only scored a near fall. A Frankensteiner from Stratus followed before a Mick Kick for a near fall. Stratton then went for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever but Stratus got her knees up and followed up with Stratusfaction. The fans in Atlanta thought that was it but Tiffany kicked out at two.
Stratus went for her own Moonsault but Stratton got her knees up, hit an Alabama Slam, and the PME for the win.
Post-match, referee Jessicka Carr told Stratton to hurry up getting to the back so Stratus could receive "Thank you Trish" chants.
Jade Cargill def. Naomi - No Holds Barred Match with Bianca Belair as Special Guest Referee
Naomi didn't even wait for Jade Cargill to get in the ring as she tried to deck the Queen of the Ring winner with the Money in the Bank briefcase, only to run straight into a kick from Jade. Naomi fought back, though, bouncing Cargill's head into the steel steps. Jade then fired back with a Suplex on the outside.
The action eventually entered the ring and saw Naomi bounce Cargill's head off a steel chair. Naomi then choked Cargill with a chain but Jade broke free and followed up with a chain-wrapped punch to the face. Cargill then grabbed a camera and battered her opponent with it before a Big Boot while a trash can was over Naomi's head.
Jade then tried to murder her opponent with a toolbox thrown at Naomi's head but the Money in the Bank holder literally dodged a wrench, proving she is also able to dodge a ball. Naomi then followed up by hitting a Shotgun Dropkick to Jade into the TV on the announce table.
Naomi used the table legs as a weapon and drove Cargill's face into them in a painful-looking spot. A Heatseeker from Naomi followed before Naomi used a steel chair to send Cargill crashing through a table on the outside. A Facebuster on a steel chair followed back in the ring but Jade kicked out at two.
Naomi was somehow busted open and received a steel chair shot from behind before an Avalanche Jaded through the table as Cargill scored the victory.
Stephanie Vaquer wins the Battle Royal for a Women's Title Shot at WWE Clash In Paris
Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame were eliminated within seconds by Nia Jax, and Jax tried to eliminate Kelani Jordan but she was caught by Paxley and Dame to receive the Kofi Kingston spot. Jordan performed a handstand walk to make it back into the ring.
Giulia next eliminated Ivy Nile before Jaida Parker dumped out Natalya. Candice LeRae got rid of Maxxine Dupri before Jaida Parker dumped out Candice LeRae. Michin and B-Fab worked together to throw out Jaida Parker and LeRae got revenge on Jaida Parker, eliminating her.
Zelina Vega eliminated Giulia in some measure of revenge over losing the Women's United States Championship. Piper Niven then scored an elimination, getting rid of B-Fab, and Michin was eliminated by Chelsea Green. Lash Legend got rid of Zelina Vega before Alba Fyre was sent over the top rope by Nikki Bella while she was saluting Green.
Niven eliminated Lola Vice but Niven was sent over the top by Nikki Bella and Stephanie Vaquer. Chelsea Green was then sent "bouncy bouncy" as Wade Barrett said by Vaquer's Devil's Kiss. Green was then eliminated to bring the match down to Nikki Bella, Stephanie Vaquer, Lash Legend, and Nia Jax.
Lash Legend eliminated Nikki Bella with a Big Boot. Nia Jax was dumped out by Legend and Vaquer. Legend tried to get rid of Vaquer but Vaquer hit a Devil's Kiss on the apron to win.
Naomi def. IYO SKY (c) & Rhea Ripley - Women's World Championship
Main event time as Rhea Ripley looked to defeat IYO SKY for the first time ever in singles action in what was SKY's first title defence in three months.
IYO SKY got the better of the early exchanges but Ripley mocked SKY soon after when IYO cowered in fear in the corner at a possible punch from the challenger. The two talents then talked about respecting each other before agreeing to fight.
SKY went for a Suicide Dive but ran straight into a forearm from Ripley. The former Io Shirai fired back with an Asai Moonsault, though. SKY remained in control, bouncing Ripley's head off the apron with a 619 Driver. Ripley fought back with a knee to the face before throwing SKY straight into the announce table from the apron.
SKY was next sent flying into the barricade before she was bounced off the steel steps. What followed was several minutes of Ripley dominance before Sky fought back, with the match remaining even for the rest of the contest.
A Suicide Dive from IYO SKY followed soon after before a Missile Dropkick and Double Knees. After a flurry of counters, SKY hit a Poisonrana for a near fall. SKY got caught on a Moonsault attempt and received a Razor's Edge fro Ripley before a Sit-Out Powerbomb for a near fall.
SKY escaped a Riptide attempt and applied a Sleeper, which was quickly broken by Ripley. A ref bump followed after a Springboard Missile Dropkick from SKY, with Ripley taking advantage with a Riptide for the visual pin with no referee in sight. An infuriated Ripley took out her frustration on the turnbuckle before turning her attention back to IYO SKY with another Razor's Edge, but a Big Boot sent SKY into the crowd.
Rhea Ripley battered SKY around the arena, punching SKY over and over while she was stuck in between a bannister. SKY fought back and hit a Crossbody from a pile of production cases onto the floor. SKY continued to punish the challenger back to the ringside area, but the champion missed on a jumping attack, crashing into the announce table. SKY fired back with a Powerbomb to Ripley on the floor.
SKY followed up with a Moonsault as the referee recovered and the fans thought the match was over, only for Ripley to kick out at 2.9. SKY went for another Moonsault but Ripley moved out of the way and managed to bounce SKY's head off the ring post. Ripley looked to go for an Avalanche Riptide but SKY hit a Spanish Fly.
Naomi then ran to the ring and cashed in, battering SKY and Ripley with the Money in the Bank briefcase. One Split Legged Moonsault later and Naomi pinned IYO SKY to become the new Women's World Champion.
