The pro wrestling rumour mill continues to churn and it isn't good news for international viewers of Monday Night Raw on Netflix who have so far been able to avoid ads during the show. When Santos Escobar will make his return to WWE TV has also been revealed.
For AEW, Tony Khan has confirmed why Adam Copeland is currently absent from TV and no, it isn't related to a possible match with John Cena. On the TNA front, Mustafa Ali's contract is due to expire at the end of 2025.
WWE and AEW rumours for Wednesday, October 22, 2025:
Adverts being displayed during Monday Night Raw's commercial breaks on Netflix is a common occurrence for fans of WWE in the United States, but international audiences have largely avoided them, with WWE instead airing interviews or continuing to broadcast a match.
That is set to change, however. Several international markets have begun to receive ads during Raw and BodySlam has now reported that Netflix is slowly rolling out commercials to all markets for WWE programming.
Austin Theory is currently absent from WWE programming, but plans had been in place for him to make his return and link up with The Vision, which would have led to Theory being part of WarGames at Survivor Series.
Those plans were scuppered, however, following Seth Rollins' shoulder injury at Crown Jewel, with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turning on the then-World Heavyweight Champion on the post-Crown Jewel episode of Monday Night Raw.
In an update, WrestleVotes has reported that several names within WWE are pushing for Theory to remain involved in creative plans following Rollins' injury. There is still support for Theory to resurface on WWE TV in a big way too.
"Sources indicate there are still voices within the company pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in creative plans, even after the recent shuffling caused by Seth Rollins' injury. The idea of Theory joining The Vision was at least discussed, and he still has internal support moving forward to reappear on TV in a significant manner," WrestleVotes tweeted.
Santos Escobar looked to be on his way out of WWE earlier this month when his contract expired, but the former Cruiserweight Champion ended up re-signing with the company on what was described as a "big money" deal.
Escobar has yet to resurface on WWE TV since putting pen to paper on his new contract, but PWInsider has since reported that the 41-year-old is currently scheduled to make his return to WWE on the October 27 edition of Monday Night Raw from Anaheim, California.
Adam Copeland has been gone from AEW programming since the post-All Out edition of Dynamite when he told Christian Cage he had to step away to find himself after watching his wife Beth Phoenix be laid out by FTR.
This led to speculation that Copeland was going to pop back up in WWE for a match with John Cena, but it quickly emerged that Cope was taking time off due to filming of Percy Jackson and The Olympians. Copeland is featured in the Disney+ series as Ares.
Tony Khan has confirmed on Z100 New York that filming is the reason for Copeland's current absence from AEW TV.
"Adam Copeland's a huge part of AEW. Adam's out filming right now. He's a huge star in AEW. We love having Adam Copeland, The Rated-R Superstar, in AEW and I'm excited for him to be back in AEW, hopefully soon after this project is done, and he's taking care of business and then Adam will come back and we'll get Adam Copeland taking care of the business in the ring in AEW," Khan said.

Mustafa Ali is currently in his second run with TNA Wrestling, having returned to the promotion at the beginning of 2025, but his long-term future with Total Nonstop Action is up in the air.
Fightful Select has reported that Mustafa Ali is one of several TNA talents with deals expiring at the end of the year. Fightful noted that Ali appears to be keeping his options open as of now.
Ali has been featured on WWE NXT as part of the crossover with TNA. The former SmackDown hacker was said to be "welcomed back" to NXT when he appeared on the Tuesday night show and WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels has long been a supporter of Ali's.
The Deadline premium live event/pay-per-view has become an annual tradition for WWE NXT and the show will return this December.
Fightful Select has reported that WWE NXT Deadline is scheduled for Saturday, December 6 at the Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, Texas. The venue has a capacity of around 3,000.
Deadline is centred around the Iron Survivor Challenge matches, which have quickly become a popular stipulation match within WWE. The winners typically earn a shot at the NXT Championship and NXT Women's Title.
