The rumour mill continues to turn in the professional wrestling world with some stories across both AEW and WWE on October 25, 2025. Backstage news on Bron Breakker’s absence from RAW’s battle royal, Mercedes Moné’s rates on the independent scene, new NXT signings, and some political influence in WWE are among the more notable reports today.

Why Bron Breakker Was Kept Out Of WWE Raw Battle Royal

Jey Uso won a battle royal to determine the new number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, securing him a spot against CM Punk to crown a new champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event following the injury to Seth Rollins and subsequent relinquishment of the title. Despite being the one to take out Rollins, and despite him sporting the title to open the show, Bron Breakker was not involved in the battle royal, with General Manager Adam Pearce removing him in storyline. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has learned why this was the case.

The idea of keeping Breakker away from the battle royal is reportedly to keep him and Bronson Reed looking strong, as if they were to feature in the match then they’d just look like any other roster member. With the plan being for someone else to win, it could have hurt Breakker to lose so soon after his big turn against Rollins.

Mercedes Moné is currently holding a massive 12 different championships, winning gold all across the world including in a variety of independent promotions. When it comes to what the price is to bring the AEW TBS Champion in for an appearance, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that Moné is charging $25,000 per appearance, according to one of the promotions who inquired to bring her in. According to Dave Meltzer, this price is above what anyone would be paid for a CMLL appearance, and in the case of other indie guys, the highest paid wrestlers are charging $5,000 by comparison.

Reports emerged in recent weeks of WWE’s planned line-up for WarGames, which featured the potential for babyfaces like Roman Reigns, CM Punk, LA Knight and The Usos aligning against The Vision; Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar and a returning Austin Theory. With Rollins’ recently injured, he was taken out by The Vision members, though it is reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE’s plans are largely unchanged.

It is noted that the general idea of a Punk/Reigns led team taking on The Vision is still the plan for the men’s WarGames match, despite injuries and other changes in booking.

WWE fans have been seeing a lot of crossover when it comes to the US political world and WWE, with Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque frequenting The White House on more than one occasion during the presidency of WWE Hall Of Famer Donald Trump in 2025.

One interesting name who received a WWE tryout over the summer is Zoe Hines, who is the niece of Robert F. Kennedy, current member of Trump’s political office. At the recent Clash In Paris PLE, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted that Zoe Hines and her mother Cheryl were backstage at the show. It is noted that there is a backstage feeling that WWE could experience some pressure to push her if she decides to pursue a career in professional wrestling.
