Fan dissatisfaction with WWE was referenced in a Wall Street analysis of TKO's share price ahead of WWE's parent company reporting their earnings on August 3.
Analysts for JPMorgan, while remaining bullish on TKO, slightly downgraded their share price expectations by $3 from $225 to $222. This is still higher than the current price, however, which currently sits around $180.
The analysis did note, though, that JPMorgan have become more cautious in the short term because of higher costs, fewer obvious catalysts, and weaker fan sentiment, which might be the first time that fan complaints have been mentioned in a stock report about WWE. A point of concern mentioned was the quality of WWE creative, which was credited as being a factor behind ticket demand for SummerSlam being down.
JPMorgan also cited "WWE fan dissatisfaction" as "worth watching but is not yet a structural problem." The Wall Street institution also noted Raw ratings are declining year over year, which has been the case since Raw moved to Netflix from USA Network.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the reaction within WWE to the analysis was that nothing within the company's structure is expected to change until around 2028, which would be around the time when WWE would be looking to renegotiate with USA Network for the US media rights to SmackDown, while Netflix have a five-year opt-out in their 10-year deal for the rights to Raw, which would be active around the end of 2029.
Should WWE's ratings be poor around the end of the decade, the belief is TKO President Mark Shapiro and others would "really start pressuring" WWE President Nick Khan and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque. If WWE ratings are strong, though, things will stay how they are.
There has been plenty of fan criticism aimed at WWE in recent months, primarily centred around the quality of the company's current televised product and the price of WWE tickets. Triple H himself has been booed at points in late 2025 and 2026.
