Janel Grant, WWE & Vince McMahon File To Dismiss Lawsuit

Last month, parties in the sex trafficking & misconduct lawsuit in Janel Grant, Vince McMahon and WWE filed to move the lawsuit to private arbitration, which was granted by a judge shortly after, allowing things to move forwards to a resolution behind the scenes and confidentially. In a significant development, this case is another step closer to being concluded. 

As revealed by POST Wrestling, Janel Grant, Vince McMahon and WWE have officially filed for a voluntary dismissal of the lawsuit, which was an expected next step after the ongoings last month, suggesting that a resolution is close to being found. The filing states;

“Pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), Plaintiff Janel Grant, by and through her undersigned counsel, hereby files this voluntary dismissal of the above-captioned action. Plaintiff, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the ‘Parties’) stipulate and agree that this action and all claims pled herein are hereby dismissed with prejudice, but without prejudice as to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration in accordance with their agreement to arbitrate.”

This huge story and case has been ongoing since January 2024 when Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, WWE and John Lautinaitis, accusing McMahon of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and both physical & emotional abuse, accusing WWE of sweeping the allegations “under the rug”, and Laurinaitis of sexual assault. Grant - a former WWE employee - claimed McMahon had abused her over a three-year period, with the resulting lawsuit leading to McMahon resigning as TKO executive chairman.
