While he has been featured on All Elite Wrestling TV in recent weeks, Gabe Kidd is not signed to a contract with AEW.
That is according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, who noted that Kidd is not under an AEW contract right now and Sapp believes Kidd re-signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier this year. Kidd has made a good impression with AEW, however.
Kidd told Fightful ahead of Double or Nothing that he hadn't signed with AEW during an in-character interview.
"F*ck no. F*ck no. Not a chance. Not a prayer. I'm not an AEW guy. You think I'm going to go out there and profess how I feel about New Japan and say all this stuff about AEW and then sign a contract with them six months later? Am I a d*ckhead? I'm not a f*cking idiot. People think I'm stupid, and that’s far from it. I'm smarter than all these f*ckers. I’m one step ahead, always," Kidd said.
Gabe Kidd wrestled for AEW in February 2025 and he returned to the promotion on May 14 to help Jon Moxley retain the AEW World Title in a Steel Cage Match against Samoa Joe. Kidd has remained on AEW TV since then and he interfered during Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing on the side of the Death Riders. It was reported earlier this year that Kidd is paid per appearance when he works for AEW.
