Several matches have already been announced for the December 13 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event from Washington, DC, but that won't be everything at the show hosting John Cena's retirement match.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that WWE are working on having some surprises for Saturday Night's Main Event. It is unknown exactly what those surprises will be.

Unannounced names currently scheduled to be at Saturday Night's Main Event include CM Punk, Joe Hendry, and at least one TNA talent beyond Leon Slater.

The presentation for WWE Saturday Night's Main Event may also be changing, at least for Cena's retirement match, with WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select noting the show will have an updated look. It is unclear if the change will be permanent or just a one-off for Cena's final match.

The match order for SNME is currently up in the air as John Cena wants to open the show with his retirement match, while a number of WWE higher-ups want Cena's final match to be the main event.

The card for the December 13 edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event is as follows:

  • John Cena vs. Gunther - John Cena's Final Match
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi
  • Bayley vs. Sol Ruca
  • AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Je'Von Evans & Leon Slater
