It was revealed earlier this year that WWE would be heading to Italy for their first-ever pay-per-view in the country in 2026, and further details about WWE's plans for the event have now been revealed.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the planned date for a pay-per-view in Italy is Sunday, May 31, 2026. This will be the first pay-per-view after WrestleMania 42, and Backlash is being used internally as the placeholder name for the event, although the final name is currently up for debate.

Turin has been discussed as the host city of the pay-per-view. The largest indoor arena in Italy in the Inalpi Arena (AKA Palasport Olimpico) is in Turin and has a capacity of around 15,000.

WWE have held more pay-per-views in Europe in the 2020s, including major shows in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. A WWE pay-per-view in Italy will coincide with WWE programming moving to Netflix in the country.

WWE taped SmackDown from Bologna, Italy in March 2025 ahead of WrestleMania 41. A famous WWE moment in Italy, meanwhile, saw Santino Marella make his WWE debut from the crowd and defeat Umaga for the Intercontinental Championship at a 2007 Raw taping in Milan.
