Ric Flair remains under contract to All Elite Wrestling, although he hasn't been used by the promotion since Sting's retirement at March 2024's Revolution pay-per-view.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Flair revealed why he hasn't been used by AEW for over a year.
"The reason I'm not on TV now is that Tony [Khan] didn't know I was on blood thinners. I've been on blood thinners because I had a real bad blood clot in my leg at one time. At Sting's last match, I had already made a blade. I was ready to go. He said, 'No, I don't want you doing nothing.' I made blades for all the guys in the old days, 'Okay Ric, make me a blade.' [I said], 'Okay, get me a scissors and some Johnson & Johnson tape,'" Flair said.
There are no current plans in place for AEW to use Flair, with the promotion even opting not to produce Flair merchandise or action figures despite being able to do so. Flair's contract with All Elite Wrestling isn't believed to be restrictive and he is able to work with WWE if he wishes to do so.
