A new TNA World Champion will seemingly be crowned at some point over the next several weeks, unless there is a sudden change.

According to False Finish, the belief within WWE is that Mike Santana will leave TNA Wrestling when his contract expires and he will head to WWE. This comes after reports that Mike Santana's TNA deal will come to an end at some point in July 2026 and WWE are interested in signing the TNA World Champion. WWE would reportedly like Santana to be on the main roster by the end of the year.

WWE have a longstanding interest in Mike Santana dating back to his appearances on NXT in the summer of 2025.

Mike Santana is currently in his second stint with TNA Wrestling. He returned to the promotion at Rebellion 2024 after a five-year run with All Elite Wrestling and Santana is in his second reign as TNA World Champion, having regained the belt from Frankie Kazarian on the Thursday Night IMPACT premiere on AMC in January 2026.

Should Mike Santana sign with WWE later this year, it would mean, with the exception of Frankie Kazarian, that every TNA World Champion since Genesis 2025 has either since signed with WWE or was already under contract to WWE. TNA and WWE have been in a working relationship since May 2024 and the partnership was formalised in January 2025.
