Abyss looking at Bruce Prichard at WWE Raw Gorilla Position

There was plenty of sympathy for Abyss (Chris Park) within the professional wrestling world this week following the release of WWE: Unreal, but all may not have been as it seemed.

The first episode of WWE: Unreal focused upon the Netflix premiere of Monday Night Raw. The final minutes of the show showcased CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins and Abyss, the producer of the match, was shown sitting at the Gorilla position frantically apologising to Bruce Prichard due to the match going over time, with Abyss cutting an Anaconda Vice spot from the closing moments of Punk vs. Rollins.

Chris Park then apologised to Bruce Prichard again after the match was over, with Prichard calling the main event of the Raw Netflix premiere "overwritten, overproduced, over-everything else."

Pro wrestling fans were sympathetic to Abyss following the episode, but Bryan Alvarez has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that this is often how Chris Park acts at the Gorilla position.

"When I watched it, at first I felt so bad for the guy, and then I thought am I kind of being a mark? And then I asked around and it was like, nope. That's that guy. He's a super, super nice guy, but man, he's always worried and he's always panicking," Alvarez said.

Abyss has been a producer in WWE since 2019. The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion joined the company following his TNA exit, ending his in-ring career in the process, and Chris Park noted earlier this year that he had no plans to wrestle again.
