Report: Ace Austin Impressing In AEW

Ace Austin has left people in All Elite Wrestling "very impressed" after his match with Claudio Castagnoli on the August 8 edition of AEW Collision.

That is according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who stated: "As far as Ace Austin's standing, I think he did himself a world of favours with this performance because people are talking about him, including in the company, being very impressed by him. I don't know that it's going to get him a bunch of wins, but I do think it will get him some television time."

Austin faced Claudio Castagnoli in the opening round of the AEW Continental Cup, with Castagnoli picking up the win after 12 minutes.

Ace Austin made his All Elite Wrestling debut in August 2025 and he has primarily been booked as a wrestler who has good matches but loses so far, having registered a 5-13 record on AEW TV over the past year. Many of those wins came as part of multi-man matches with his Bang Bang Gang stablemates and Austin has only won one AEW singles match.

Austin has unsuccessfully challenged for several titles since signing with AEW, including the TNT Title, AEW International Championship, AEW National Championship, ROH World Television Championship, and ROH Pure Title.

Prior to joining AEW, Ace Austin had a six-year stint with TNA and he was one of the promotion's featured performers, ending his run as a three-time TNA World Tag Team Champion with Chris Bey and three-time X-Division Champion.
