Johnny TV has admitted to feeling underutilised within All Elite Wrestling, and credited his recent Hair vs. Hair match in CMLL with helping the former John Morrison feel like himself again inside the squared circle.

"That hair match, I feel like was one of the best matches I've had in years. It was the first time in a while that I felt like me again. Kind of just being off or feeling unfulfilled, basically. Not just me, a lot of people in wrestling. But for me right now, in AEW, I feel underutilised. Can't blame anyone, that's just how wrestling promotions work. There's only enough TV time for a certain amount of people," the former Johnny Nitro said on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.

"Those people at AEW, we've coined the term 'the island.' Those people are on the island, so to speak. And I don't feel like I'm on the island with Tony [Khan] or AEW right now. So because of that, I feel like I'm doing like 10-20 per cent of what I'm capable of, storytelling-wise, wrestling-wise, in the ring. With CMLL, I'm on their island. And so I got to do everything that I could, and it was cool. It made me realise, like, 'Hey, yeah, I do love wrestling.'"

The former John Morrison debuted in All Elite Wrestling in 2022 as Johnny Elite and he signed with the promotion in 2023 as Johnny TV. He has only had 25 televised matches in AEW since May 2022, however, and Mr TV currently finds himself as part of MxM TV with his wife Taya Valkyrie, Mansoor, and Mason Madden.

Johnny TV has been regularly booked by one of AEW's partner promotions CMLL in 2026, which led to him losing a Hair vs. Hair match against Angel de Oro on February 27.
