Je’Von Evans was one of several NXT call-ups which took place over the last couple of weeks, kicking off the new year by signing officially with the Monday Night RAW brand. This comes after several standout appearances on the main roster throughout 2025, convincing WWE’s upper brass that the 21 year old high-flyer deserved a shot under the spotlight much sooner than most who come out of WWE’s developmental system. However, it may be unwise to expect major things in the future of Evans.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE may not be as hot on Evans as it seems. When looking across the recent call-ups to the main roster, it is noted that WWE do not necessarily see Evans as a “franchise star” who could carry the company, and certainly not on the same level as the likes of Oba Femi. It is stated in this report that WWE does think Evans has some potential to be a star, but not at the very top of the card.

Of course, Evans is still just 21 years of age, so he has plenty of time to prove WWE wrong in their assessment. The segment in which Evans signed with RAW took place during a commercial break, and while this reportedly created some confusion with WWE, it was not believed to be any indication on how WWE sees him.
