Je'Von Evans' main roster call-up was officially confirmed on the January 5 episode of Monday Night Raw from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, although you wouldn't have known about it if you were watching in the United States.

The international broadcast of Raw on Netflix is often commercial-free, and WWE decided to bring Evans out during one of the scheduled commercial breaks for American viewers to have him sign a storyline contract to join WWE's red brand.

Many fans were befuddled by WWE's decision to not feature the segment on the actual Raw broadcast, but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has noted there were rumours within WWE that some Raw segments "went heavy", which led to the signing being held during a break, although that wasn't confirmed.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that many within WWE were puzzled by the situation, but they insisted it wasn't an indication about how Evans is viewed within the organisation.

Je'Von Evans is one of several main roster call-ups from recent weeks, with the likes of Trick Williams and Jordynne Grace also making their way to the main roster, while Oba Femi will be moving up from NXT after he relinquished the NXT Championship at New Year's Evil.

Other names within WWE NXT being considered for main roster call-ups are Blake Monroe, Jacy Jayne, and Lola Vice.
