Ohio Valley Wrestling's Al Snow has warned talent over accepting bookings from another promotion based in Louisville, Kentucky.
OVW regularly run shows at the Hotpoint Davis Arena in Louisville, while another promotion based in Louisville in Bullpen Pro Wrestling will hold their Goldmine event on July 13 just a 15-minute drive from OVW's venue.
Several talents who perform for Ohio Valley Wrestling are booked for the Bullpen Pro Wrestling event on July 13, which led to a message from Al Snow to the OVW roster warning talent who continue to accept bookings from other promotions in Louisville that OVW will no longer invest in them or will book them to put over other wrestlers.
Al Snow wrote:
"It has come to my attention that several OVW talent are working this show being held 15 minutes away from the Davis arena.
"I thought I had made it clear that the one ask that was made of all talent was to not work where OVW TV went, especially in the same town. This is not done for some petty reason but merely business. OVW heavily invests in talent via TV etc. for the sole purpose of building said talent into an attraction to the benefit of both talent and promotion. It is not fair for another promotion to reap the benefits of said investment with no investment of their own.
"Talent who continue to take these bookings will either no longer be invested in by OVW going forward or be utilized to elevate and invest in talent who are willing to agree to conducting business in a professional manner. I really hope that this clears up any and all ambiguity on this matter for everyone.
"If not please feel free to contact me and I explain further and in greater sail as need to prevent any continued misunderstanding in regards to my stance and why on this matter. Thank you, Al Snow."
The message from Al Snow has bothered talent within Ohio Valley Wrestling, Fightful Select has reported, as most of the OVW roster didn't come from OVW and the Bullpen Pro Wrestling show is taking place on an OVW off day. Talent within OVW also noted there are no contracts in the promotion and they have heard the pay was better for the Bullpen event.
Other talents booked for Bullpen Pro Wrestling Goldmine include Donovan Dijak, Xia Brookside, and Priscilla Kelly.
OVW underwent a takeover earlier this year as Morley Sports Management (MSM) acquired a majority stake in the promotion. The previous ownership group which included Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and Matt Jones retained a minority stake in OVW as part of the new deal.
