Former WWE manager Abraham Washington (real name Brian Jossie) is now recovering at home following a life-threatening medical emergency which saw him placed on life support.

Jossie's significant other, Marnae June Barnum, noted on Instagram that the 47-year-old complained about severe stomach pain following a bodybuilding event in July. Jossie was then taken to hospital and it was discovered he had a tear in his intestines.

Jossie underwent emergency surgery and while the surgery was successful, he suffered aspiration which caused fluid to enter his lungs. This resulted in Jossie being placed in a medically induced coma and later on life support.

Barnum noted Jossie has since been able to go home, though, writing:

"After almost a month in the hospital, Brian is finally home! What a crazy, unexpected month August has been. Just last week, he could barely sit on the edge of his bed without help. Today, when we were leaving they went to get a wheelchair, he refused, and he insisted on walking out on his own with me.

"I want to thank everyone so much for all your love, prayers, texts, comments, and phone calls. To those who sent money...we both really appreciate it. We've truly felt all of your love and support. Thank you!"

Jossie previously worked for WWE from 2009 until 2012, spending much of his time in Florida Championship Wrestling and ECW as either an authority figure or talk show host alongside Tony Atlas.

Washington also served as the manager of Prime Time Players in 2012, but he was released in August of that year shortly after he made an on-air joke about Kobe Bryant and an accusation that the NBA player sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman.
