Deonna Purrazzo's Joke Prediction Comes True As She Only Appears On AEW Fyter Fest During Picture-In-Picture

A jokey prediction from Deonna Purrazzo that she would only appear on AEW Dynamite during a picture-in-picture commercial break ended up coming true on June 4 during AEW Fyter Fest.

Purrazzo has not wrestled on AEW Dynamite since February 26 and the former TNA Knockouts World Champion has only had three matches on AEW TV in 2025. After a fan on May 28 asked if Purrazzo would be on that night's episode of Dynamite, Deonna replied: "During picture in picture, probably."

This actually happened during AEW Fyter Fest, though, as while Protoshita & Hechicero vs. Los Outrunners & Bandido continued in picture-in-picture, Purrazzo was featured in an advert for Southern New Hampshire University. Purrazzo graduated from the university in 2023 with a BA in history.

The advert fuelled criticism of All Elite Wrestling's usage of Purrazzo on social media and Purrazzo addressed the situation, tweeting:

"I truly meant no harm last week when I tweeted about this. I thought it was clear, I was joking. When I was asked to shoot this commercial, I had no idea that it would become a HUGE national commercial, let alone play during Dynamite.

"The response the last few months since it came out has been overwhelming and I’m HONORED to bridge the gap between academics & pro wrestling… and maybe inspire a few people along the way."

Purrazzo may not be done with her studies as she revealed recently on the Lightweights podcast with Joe Vulpis that she is hoping to complete a Master's in political science.

Deonna Purrazzo has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since January 2024, joining the promotion upon leaving TNA.
