Darby Allin has successfully climbed Mount Everest, with it being announced in a blog chronicling the All Elite Wrestling talent's ascent that Allin and his team reached the summit on the morning of Sunday, May 18 after climbing the mountain through the night.
Allin has since returned to one of the camps around Mount Everest ahead of descending to the base camp.
Darby commented on his successful climb, writing on Instagram:
"Mount Everest summit. What a ride thanks @aew for everything in life. Thanks to the amazing team at adventure consultants and the Sherpa squad this sh*t was wild!"
Allin was written off AEW TV in December 2024 so he could climb Mount Everest, having originally planned to climb the mountain in April 2024 only to suffer a broken foot in what was scheduled to be his final AEW match for some time.
Allin set off from Kathmandu on April 10 and began the long trek to Everest on April 11. Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth above sea level, reaching an elevation of 8848 metres.
As of December 2024, the original expectation was that Darby would be back on AEW programming by the Spring, with the hope being he would be back in time for Double or Nothing. AEW's next pay-per-view is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 25.
