Why Chris Jericho's contract with All Elite Wrestling did not expire at the end of 2025 has been revealed.
Jericho's deal was believed to be expiring at the end of last year, with the former AEW World Champion even noting when he re-signed with the promotion in October 2022 that his new contract would run out at the end of 2025. The 55-year-old has remained under contract with AEW, though, and he is still featured on the AEW roster page.
Fightful Select has reported the belief within All Elite Wrestling and amongst people close to Jericho is that his AEW deal was frozen after he took time off in 2025. Jericho has been off AEW TV for 10 months, having announced on the post-Dynasty 2025 episode of Dynamite that he would be leaving until his Learning Tree stablemates Big Bill and Bryan Keith made a change.
It has been heavily rumoured that Jericho would be WWE-bound when his AEW deal comes to an end. There is interest in Jericho within WWE and Jericho, according to Fightful, has mentioned to people that he would be open to returning to WWE, but he was fearful he would have to give up his outside projects while with the company.
Chris Jericho is currently on a tour of the United Kingdom with his band Fozzy, although the tour will come to an end on February 21 in Wolverhampton, England.
