Cedric Alexander has revealed that he had the opportunity to join All Elite Wrestling and reunite with his former Hurt Business stablemates MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin in the Hurt Syndicate, but he ultimately turned down the opportunity to do so.
"I helped make that group what it was (in WWE) but at the same time, too, when I had the opportunity to go to AEW, I was looking at it in a sense of…well, for them, they're finishing their careers with The Hurt Business. I still got another 10-15 years to go," Alexander said on Busted Open Radio.
"I kind of want to do my own thing and just be my own man for a while and not be linked to 'All he did was Hurt Business stuff. Cedric Alexander because of the Hurt Business.' Like, nah, no, I was a self-made man before I came to WWE in the (Cruiserweight Classic), so I would like to be able to say, 'This was my choice and something I did for me.'"
It is unknown when exactly Cedric Alexander was offered the chance to join All Elite Wrestling. The former Raw Tag Team Champion was released by WWE in February 2025 and Alexander noted in March of last year that he was interested in reuniting with the Hurt Syndicate in AEW. It was expected the faction would push for him to become All Elite.
Cedric Alexander ultimately made his debut for TNA Wrestling in June 2025 and he has been with the promotion ever since, with it emerging in January 2026 that Alexander had re-signed with TNA.
